Balance Bar Adventure Sprint - October 18, 2003

Feliciano (who joins us from the cycling team) holds an implement of torture as we drive out to the race start in Bonelli Park.

Faz, Marcus, and Karl celebrate finishing the race in the transition area.

Both Faz and Marcus crashed multiple times during the mountain bike. Faz sports an ice-pack on his head.

Marc, Scott, and Jamie, our 2nd UCLA team in the race, scramble over the final special test -

a 12 foot wall.

UCLA 2 finish together, sporting fashionable bike helmets!

Marc, Scott, and Jamie came through the finish about 4 hour, 9 minutes after the first wave went off.

The collegiate wave started 14 minutes after the first wave.

Awards: The pro teams spray the crowd with champagne.

On the podium: UCLA 2 took 4th place in the collegiate division and were the first mixed collegiate team to finish!

Scott, right, crashed into a cactus during the mountain bike. Not to be outdone, a USC rider did too.

Faz, Marcus, and Karl take 1st place in the Collegiate division, winning a year's supply of Balance Bars!

Cal Poly took 2nd and USC took 3rd. They were both over 30 minutes behind. Go UCLA!

One word: CRUSHED!
